Requirements

  1. High School Graduate
  2. 17+ years of age
  3. Proof of English proficiency through one of the following:
    1. English 12 C+ or higher
    2. IELTS 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5)
    3. PLC Entrance Test 78% or above

Students who did not graduate from a high school may be admitted as a mature student:

  1. Be 21 years old as of the first as of the first day of classes of the program applied
  2. Have not been engaged in full-time study for at least 24 months since the age of 18
  3. Hae demonstrated potential for success through academic, professional or volunteer activities and other accomplishments
  4. Proof of English Proficiency through one of the following:
    1. English 12 C+ or higher
    2. IELTS 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5)
    3. PLC Entrance Test 78% or above

This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the many entities that make up the hospitality industry, as well as an overview of today’s hot issues, including ethical challenges and management concerns, Students will get an up-to-date look at the dynamic hospitality field through numerous examples, exhibits, and statistics.

Students will learn how the front office interacts with other departments, strategies for keeping the front desk profitable, and how e-commerce and social networking affect front office operations. The course provides new information on several technology-driven topics, including social media channels, QR codes, tablet PC applications, mobile payments, and cloud computing concepts.

This course covers topics such as energy management, sustainability and green housekeeping, post 9/11 security issues, health concerns, and amenities and guest room furnishings. This course takes a systematic approach to hospitality facilities issues, while also providing a summary based on functional spaces within a property. It includes case studies, as well as the latest information on facilities management and design issues.

The course presents basic financial accounting concepts and shows the students how they apply to the hospitality industry. It incorporates the most recent formats and information and includes new problems to give students practice using accounting information and to help them learn advantages and drawbacks of various types of income statements, as well as learning the role of inventory in calculating profit.
