We are currently seeking highly motivated, service-oriented individuals to join the Food & Beverage Service Operations Department as part-time and casual BARTENDER positions for some of the largest and most prestigious events in the city.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage Service Operations, Managers and Supervisors on shift, the Bartender:

Ensures positive guest experiences, providing prompt and professional service while accurately mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Follows Sodexo Live! standards to ensure that product is of the highest quality in taste and appearance to satisfy guests and maximize bar revenues.
Fulfills beverage orders for Servers in a friendly and efficient manner.
Participates in and fosters positive team relations with Servers, Bartenders, other department teams and management.
Follows all Provincial and local guidelines for responsible alcohol service; Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
Sets up an efficiently functioning workstation as required for that event; Arrange bottles and glasses to make an attractive display and to merchandise bar offerings. Restock bar as needed.
Prepares garnishes for drinks, maintain a clean bar area, ensuring bar top continually wiped, cleaning up spills immediately to avoid slipping hazards.
Follows sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of bar areas.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, offerings, menus and promotions.
Takes initiative in resolving guest challenges and concerns, raising to a supervisor as necessary.
Handles cash transactions and POS system as required.
Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
Assists with beverage inventory and reconciliation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Previous bartending experience is essential.
Serving it Right Certification and age 19 years or older to serve alcohol.
Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits and familiarity with standard drink recipes.
Exceptional focus on service excellence and ability to connect easily with guests.
Positive attitude that contributes to team work and an ability to work independently and proactively.
Ability to work well in a high-volume, fast paced environment.
Professional and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to proficiently speak, read, write and understand English.
Good physical condition to stand for long periods, move equipment and walk long distances throughout our large facility during each shift. Must be able to lift up to 25Lbs in weight regularly and able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion. Must be able to exert well-paced mobility throughout entire shift, be able to perform repetitive motions, and be able to stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
High school graduate or equivalent.
SHIFTS AND HOURS:
Scheduling flexibility is required to meet operations needs and shift start and end times vary with different events. The position requires working early morning, late evening, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
