Pacific Link College Partners with Canada Journal to Launch
Dedicated Homestay Program for International Students

At Pacific Link College (PLC), we are always looking for ways to enhance the student experience—both inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we’re excited to share a new initiative designed to support the well-being and success of our international students: a dedicated homestay program in partnership with Japan Advertising Ltd., operating as Canada Journal.

A New Chapter in Student Support

On June 10, 2025, PLC officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Canada Journal to develop and manage a specialized homestay program. This partnership is built on shared values of reciprocity, collaboration, and care. Its primary goal? To provide our international students with safe, welcoming, and enriching living environments that complement their educational journey in Metro Vancouver.

“We’re thrilled to work with Japan Advertising Ltd. in offering a housing solution that emphasizes safety, cultural exchange, and community,” said Aaron Dpenha, Campus Director of Pacific Link College. “This partnership is another step forward in supporting our international student community and ensuring their success both in and out of the classroom.”

What This Means for PLC Students

Whether you’re planning to begin your studies this summer or already part of our PLC family, this program opens up a new path to living in Canada with peace of mind and a sense of belonging.

Here’s what you can expect from the new homestay program:

  •  Personalized Homestay Placements: Canada Journal will manage and coordinate homestay placements, ensuring that every student is matched with a qualified, friendly host family.
  • A Jointly Designed Housing System: PLC and Canada Journal will work together to create a reliable, transparent system that prioritizes student safety and well-being.
  • Real-World Industry Collaboration: This partnership includes the sharing of industry knowledge, co-branding, and enhanced digital collaboration—showcasing the strong bond between education and service providers.
  • Ongoing Student Support: Beyond housing, both PLC and Canada Journal will support student-led activities and cultural events to help build friendships, networks, and lasting memories.

“Canada Journal is excited to support PLC students by providing warm, reliable homestays that feel like a second home,” said Hisa Watanabe of Canada Journal. “Together, we’re creating an environment where students can thrive academically and culturally.”

Special Offer for Pacific Link College Students: Pacific Link College students will receive a CAD$50 discount on the Homestay Placement Fee.

Why This Matters

International students often face challenges adjusting to life in a new country—especially when it comes to housing. By partnering with a trusted organization like Canada Journal, PLC is taking a proactive step toward making every student feel at home.

This initiative also reflects our larger mission: to foster meaningful connections between education, industry, and cultural exchange. As the demand for skilled, globally-minded professionals grows, our role is not just to educate—but to support students through every step of their academic and personal journey.

Launch Timeline

The dedicated homestay program will be available to incoming international students starting summer 2025. More details on how to apply for a homestay will be shared with new students during the onboarding and admissions process.
