Online Learning

Pacific Link College Students will have to attend online classes. On this page we will help you learn more about the online learning experience

At PLC, we use Moodle for online learning activities together with Zoom for interactive online classes.

Moodle serves as a versatile learning management system (LMS), empowering faculty to enhance in-person courses or create blended/online classes. It’s your go-to platform for accessing courses, materials, assignments, and quizzes. Log in to find all your academic resources conveniently in one place: study.plvan.com

Technical Requirements for Online Learning

You’ll need the right technology to participate in and excel in many of the courses that use virtual classrooms. With your iPad or smartphone, you might be able to complete some learning assignments. But to make sure you complete your coursework and can engage completely in your classes, we advise students to use a laptop or desktop computer.

Getting Started With Moodle

Zoom

Zoom is used for video and audio conferencing across mobile devices, desktops, and telephones. It is integrated into Moodle and may be used by your instructor for online lectures, group work and presentations. You don’t need to have a Zoom account to join course-created Zoom sessions but you do need a basic Zoom download.

VitalSource

Pacific Link College students have the privilege of accessing for free the world-leading eReader – VitalSource Bookshelf. You may useVitalSource Bookshelf to access and read your e-textbooks on your PC at home or take them with you everywhere you go on an Android smartphone or iOS.

Safe Exam Browser

Safe Exam Browser (SEB) allows students to take exams in a safe environment. The web browser environment provided by SEB turns any computer temporarily into a secure workstation. It controls access to resources like system functions, other websites, and applications and prevents unauthorized resources from being used during an exam. During online exams, students will be required to use this software on their laptops and computers by the instructors. If you have any problem with the SEB please reach out to itsupport@plvan.com
